Hearts and Flowers

I don't know about you, but I am always inspired by the kind of cards that you can make using only inks and stamps, as opposed to my usual style which includes a whole lot of colouring.

I have collected a lovely batch of little stamps over the years, from both Stamps by Judith and Cardio…they are real staples in my world as I use them a lot for fillers and backgrounds, but occasionally I will go for it and make a card using just the stamps. Call it my attempt at being artistic!!

So here's a card I made a while back now, using Stamps by Judith stamps and 'sticks'.

The heart is free form stamped using a little sprig stamp which I used to create first and second generation images. To create the effect I made a heart template out of scrap paper and then put  it on the card and stamped around the edges to get a basic shape. I then removed the template and filled the heart out before adding flowers and pearls for the centres.

Finally I used a what is actually a little snowflake stamp to make the border, but if you press it down harder it looks like one of those spiky flowers.

I hope you like my attempt at 'art', and here are some challenges that I would like to enter:

  9. Gosh this is beautiful! I love those little peg stamps and have a couple of sets myself but I've never been brave enough to make an entire card out of them! Wonderful colour choice too, I love how delicate it is. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Sparkles this month.
